300 Series Bobber Soft Tail

by turnNburn1x

Just wondering if I wanted a 300 series rear tire on my soft tail bobber, how do I go about insuring that this is what I get when I order the blue prints? I already have a set of prints for the 300 series chopper (rigid). Thanks, hope this isn't an inconvenience.

300 too big from (Anonymous)
by: turnNburn1x

Hey Anonymous, I have thought about it and agree you are absolutely correct about the 300 on a bobber. I think 250 would probably be max and even ok in handling, but then again I'm not sure either. What do you think about the 250? or should I stick the the original 200? I would really appreciate your thoughts or anyone elses. Thanks!

Too big
by: Anonymous

A 300 series tire is way too big, take it from somebody who knows. You will not be happy unless your only planning on showing it or driving in a straight line, and it looks way out of proportion. That's just my opinion if it's what you realy want go for it.

Worth the extra money for the modifications
by: turnNburn1x

Im sure it will be well worth the extra money for the modifications. I thought I would download a regular set first then talk to you guys later about what the charge will be for the modifications I need. I may change my mind and go with a 250 series instead. 300 may be a little overkill for a bobber, Im still researching and brainstorming the 300 bobber build.

Hey there,

Thank you for your business. I want to be clear about something though, just so you don't feel mislead in any way. We can't change the plans for free. It takes time and effort to do it, and you would have your own customer set. But we can do our best to answer you questions as you go along. Be sure to send pictures if you do. Thanks for understanding :-)

300 Series Bobber Soft tail
by: turnNburn1x

That's what I wanted to know, if I could request that the bobber plans be modified to accomadate a 300 Series rear tire? I have the skills to calculate the modification but since Ive never done a bike build before in my life I figured it would be best left to the experts. I can always compare my rigid chopper 300 to the original bobber dimensions and figure any other future modifictions for different builds Im sure. But for the first build and the amount of money invested I want it to be dead nut on the money, thats why I would rather have you do the math for me cause you guys are the experts. I'll probaby purchase the download later today or tomorrow for the bobber. I really appreciate you guys takin the time to answer my questions like this, that is why I am sticking with Choppers Guide and BCC Orlando for everything I need. That's a fact.

300 Series
by: Custom Choppers Guide

Hi,
Not sure what you are referring to exactly but the softail bobber plans are not a 300 series. The only 300 series we have is for a rigid or softail chopper frame, in hard copy version only. The bobber softail plans are downloadable. You can certainly modify the softail bobber plans, and we can do that for you if you are interested. Hope that helps. Let us know. Thank you!
