TIRE SIZES by: STU
hey randy, most tire catalogs or listings tell you the recommended rim sizes for each tire. if you're on a budget buy low mile stock softail shocks off ebay. there's usually lots available since all the yuppies are putting airshocks on their low mile trailer queens.

Bobber? by: Anonymous
Let me save you some time with questions like these. Go buy a Harley and tear it down and then rebuild. Then, Go buy a kit bike and built it. These are fairly elemenatary questions that I have to scratch my head and ask WHY? Why would you try and build a chopper from scratch? You have watched too many OCC, Biker Builds, and TV in general. Do yourself a favor and buy a bike and rebuild or do a kit. These guys have been building bikes for years, and they have endless knowledge and funding. Just don't!

Wheel Size by: Anonymous
I am in the motorcycle custom wheel business, a 6.25-6.50" wheel will fit a 200mm tire and 8.5" wide wheel will fit a 240/250mm tire size. I you need more sizes or just general wheel information you can e-mail me at sidemoneychoppers@cox.net. I can send you a list with all wheel to tire conversions. Hope this helps

Need Help? by: Bobby C.
Hi Randy,
I would suggest exploring the website (Custom Choppers Guide) for answers to your questions, if you haven't already. They have a slew of videos, articles and even plans for frames available. Try emailing them using the "contact" link to the left of the screen. I've emailed them a number of times with questions and always got a quick reply. Good luck with your build! Bobby C.

Good questions by: Biscuit
I also have alot technical questions on building a bike from the ground up.I love the custom rides that I see going the road and want to have my own, but I don't have nowhere the money to buy one.So I decided to build my own.I am lucky enough to have access to machinary such as CNC mills -n- lathes.I plan to buy such things as tubing for the frame, wheel blanks, fender blanks, etc. I am pretty knowledgable in the process of manufacturing, but not in the details of what is exactly needed in building a custom chopper. If you have any good resources for information that you have found,I would be very grateful for any help at all.If there is any question you think I might be able to help you with, please feel free to ask. THANKS MUCH! BISCUIT (ichbinhas33@yahoo.com)
