skull gas cap

skull gas cap

This is a gas cap I made to go with the rest of my bike. I used a stock cap with a billet smooth cover and got the SKULL from a Belt Buckle my wife once had. The buckle found a new and better use. It's for a 1957 custom straight leg Harley Davidson Chop.

Thank You "Rider75" for your comment and to you also "Tyler " for getting it out for all to see and I hope enjoy. I have a few one-offs I have built for this bike that I am very proud of , like "oilbag","Battery/turn signal/roadlights"mount (up front)"LED" turn signals, custom "REAPER" lic. plate/taillight side mount, and custom switch mount for my turn signals.I also built the Headlight mount,re-designed the "Fork-Brace" & the fill panel in back of the headlight to hide all the wiring from the turnsignals & headlight. There are many more "Lil" suttle add ons that you only notice as you look the entire bike over. Thanks once again Tyler & Rider75 , hope you stay in touch with me,I do all my own paint/airbrush,powder coating, and metal fabrication.I am a retired Body/Fenderman/painter w/ 40 years on the job so I'm no-novice to any of this.Any help I can give,Please E-Mail me and we'll figure it out together---Ride Safe !!---Partner at :

Great detail work
by: rider75

I picked up four Maltese Cross/Spiderweb black buckles for a buck apiece at a local liquidation store, gonna use two for tank badges on an '83 Honda CM250 C twin bobber. Got a cheapie starter airbrush kit for my Daughter for Christmas, very exited to see her try her skills at that (She is an awesome artist with original ideas in several mediums, should be looking at it as a career!). I'll be cleaning and POR15 lining the tank over the next month or so while she practices on an old car hood.
I'm thinking of installing a billet flush mount, modern style gas cap rather than featuring it. The stock cap is looking pretty chewed on but works, just too ugly. A Sportster style cap, I'd need to weld the neck on and I'd rather not try that unless I had a spare tank, rather just buy a Sporty style tank and cap. A flush mount only requires you trace the hole and bolt hole locations from the ring, cut and drill the hole and put it together with new gaskets and some hylomar.
Yeah, the devil IS in the details, but part of the fun too.
