Accidental braking is similar in Europe and in the USA so whatever where you need to stop your bike in 1 second you need make sure (before your ride) that braking system works absolutely OK without potential grease leek on braking surface.
BTW - this video is great and is good to know that some of us can spend a time to share their knowledge in such amazing manner.
