Honda CB 5150 "The Road Reaper"

Honda CB 5150

I bought 3 old CB750's from a guy that had been storing them in a warehouse since around 1992, a '73, '74, and a '78. None were complete, but the price was right, although no titles were available. The '78 had the lowest miles (5800), but it had a twisted frame, and obvious wreck damage. I eneded up grafting that engine and swingarm into the '74 frame, with the rebuilt '74 carbs, Dyna s ignition, and a home made wiring harness to keep it to a minimum. I laced up a 16" rear rim, and installed shock lowering blocks, and 4" over CB500 forks and front wheel. Then the two lower backbone tubes were removed, and a sportster tank went on, with Maier replacement side covers. The rear fender-frame cover was made with sheet metal and fiberglass to hide the ugly gap between the custom seat and frame. Some neat clubmans and the old school lights, and side mount tail light were installed, and the unique paint was rattle canned. ( I am waiting to get a letter from you know who's lawyer about copyright or whatever...) She runs like a scalded ass ape, and is my daily ride, although my buds can't stand to ride next to me or just behind me, I can't imagine why...

Why do you call it CB5150? Did you do anything else to the engine? I have an 836 with a 380 lift cam and it,to me anyway,is dangerously fast. I just got a '71. Haven't decided what to do with it yet. millerred1@yahoo.com
