Knucklehead Electra Springer and Panhead sumpinorother

Panhead and Knucklehead Engine

Panhead and Knucklehead Engine

Panhead and Knucklehead Engine

My next project or projects are more swap meet specials - I submit for your approval this Panhead and Knucklehead Engine.

Which one gets finished first will depend largely on parts availability at the swap meets. The next closest one to me is Feb 6 in Anoka; only 120 miles away. Unlike all of my previous builds including...

My 47 Knucklehead

Paul's 57 Panhead

I'm going to make the frame myself, with the help of Custom Choppers Guide. I've already got the guides and I'm ordering the Building a Chopper Chassis DVD.

The Knucklehead is going to have an alternator case half from a Shovelhead and electric start. The model Harley-Davidson missed; The Electra Springer! The heads are from a 61" and if I can find 74" heads I'll make the stroke 80" if not 74". It would take an impossible amount of porting to get them to flow 80" well. Anybody have any ideas on how to get 61" heads to flow 80 cubic inches?

The Panhead... I haven't decided yet. I still have to find another head.

See ya at the swap meets.
