I encourage you to go ahead and start
by: Luke Aka (Eazy)

Get Ya jig plans and chassis plans, bender plans and tube notcher plans off chopperbuilders handbook print them onto A3 paper this will enlarge it enough to read convert the inches if you like to mm on your mobile phone tool.
OK first go to the site pick the main page optune then go to downloads section on the left hand side of the page and look down the collum good luck with your start. make your jig as versatile as possable and you will add bits and pieces to your jig as you go or wish.
there are many plans for different chassis on the site i chose the most basic and thats good for me but this will be my prototype used for a quick ref of dimentions and mount measurments for future builds im also going to build a trike servicar direct chain drive to an old diff.
Take note it will not be cheaper, but you will be able to spend at your own pace.
Its the experience thing for me not the monney issue and i have go resources as i work in the engineering, mining sector so materials is not an issue. Find old tube or pipe to pratcice on and get to know your bender it may take a few bends.
Practice all your welding etc on old stuff from the local dump. Notching tube, if ya good with a grinder and use a flap disk you can notch like ive done without a miter plan or notcher.
you can find tube miter tool on the google search tool.
Any probs ill help you where i can.
Remember most mistakes can be rectified so dont chuck the tube accross the shed and het the beer fridge. this is just the time to put every thing down and think of an idea to fix it, there wil be more than one way, That will come down to resorces, abillity, patence, and you preferance of approch.
You will learn more about your limits and you patence, you will increase you skills in metal work and learn alot along the way its for this reasons alone that make building your own from ground up worth it. Its much more than just a bike. Its deffinetly an experience no rider should over look if that is ther ambition.
One the site mentioned above there are links to other usefull sites. You will be using a few sites including this one of course.
So no more TV for a while it'll be flat out reaserch. I someties even have been known to take my laptop in the shed to check something rather than print and have paper flying every where
