Replace Worn Grips and Pegs

by Charles

This tip on how to sell your motorcycle is cheap and goes a long way toward making your bike look good.

Replace worn or semi worn grips and pegs, even if they are "custom". If you have the stock grips and pegs on your bike, get new peg rubbers for 9 bucks each from the dealer and glue them on your original pegs.

Cut the old rubbers off with a razor blade - carefully.
While you are at the dealer, ask if they have any original grips laying around to replace your scuffed one. Often they have so many and no one wants them you'll get them for free.

New stock grips and pegs look and feel much better than worn, grungy custom pegs and grips no matter if Arlan Ness or Paul Sr. made them.

I replace mine on my FXDX every year or so and with 50k miles on her, people still comment on how new it looks.

Also check your mirrors and lenses, cables, plug wires, hoses etc. All these things tell a tale to prospective buyers. It's your decision what tale your bike tells.

Enjoy.
